!!O: THE ANIMATION :O!!

Work on 3-d max part 2 ^.^

Here are the final objects that will appear in the animation.

The star at the beginning of the animation

The starry planet changing size and colours, i've also made the star more see through almost like a glass star

I didn't like having a tmf box so i changed it to 4 music and having the colourws white and pink

Here are just a few thing that i have made on 3d max that i was thinking of having in the animation.

!!The ending patch up!!

With the ending of the scene i was un-sure what to have, but After watching transformers one day i thought wouldn't it be a great idea to have something transform, and due to transformers being something out of this planet and is futuristic it still keeps the feel.

So the words are going to be in a cube shape and transform outwards so that the person will be able to read the logo and the channel name.

Colours for Animation *v*

With the colours of the animation i was unsure what to choose, so i decided to see what colours have been chosen by the professionals. The were a few colours which kept on re-accuring those colours are: red, and yellow. To get a better knowledge on why they these colours have been chosen on multiple occasions, i decided to do a little research up on their meaning, and what they are meant to represent.

The new Idea Patch up :p

I decided Yet againn to change my idea, ok instead of having the satellite at the beginning im going to have a 3-d star some some sort.

With the beam i thought of having the beam go like a heart rate monitor at one time, which is meant to show like a beat, (cause its to do with music) but also to add a better effect have another object in the background pulsate like a heart, getting bigger and changing colours. The object in the back i want it to be abstract.

The objects in the animation will all have a glow to them to create that techno feel, and for the ending having an abstract satellite project the letterings 'TMF top 10 hits'

^-^ The New Idea ^-^

Ok I stll wanted to stick with the space type of feel, i also love the idea of a beam shooting through space.

So the idea i came up with was a satellite firing a beam whihc is meant to be representing signal of knowledge to an antenna and then the antenna turns on and projects the title 'Tmf top 10 hits'

With the previous idea most nearly all the animation would of have to be made in Adobe After Effects, and due to me not knowing how to use thr program it would have taken me even longer to get the animation done, so i decided to get a new idea!!!!!

OK finding the song what i was looking for, the light video came along with it, i started to see the similarity between out ideas where its a dark place with a light trail, and i started to think would it be a good idea to have the orb of light leave images of itself, something like below

Fount a video on youtube by accident, and yeh the animation kind of reminded me of the Lichtfaktor group, because they have bright little men on the streets. But then it hit me that having one or two bright objects in the streets is eye catching to one area but having a load of bright/moving things is eye catching and for me creates more of a hectic feeel

Looking at the metro one day i saw images that resembled my idea for my project. Lichtfaktor is a group of people who play with lights and camera during night time to create, eye-catching images. Here are some of their work below

With the basketball and the lights around it, this gave me the idea of having the light orbs travel around the antenna of the satellite, i also like how they have varied colours of light. With the image to the right, with the image to the right it inspired me to have my middle animation, ( the middle animation being the numbers that counts down from 10 to 1) about the stars, drawing the numbers, which still keeps the space type feel.

The reason why i put these up, was because i think they are COOOL:D and also cause they resemble my animation with the trail and the orb of light traveling spontaneously

These images are here to give me and other people :D a better insight on how I’m aiming my animation to be.

I was thinking of having the line travel like a hear rate monitor because, just like the monitor it moves to the heartbeat, and I think it would be a great subliminal meaning, having the orb of light travelling in the irrationally to a beat of a song.

With this image I like the trail/flow of the weird light source, and this also gave me the idea of maybe having some particles come off the orb of light as it flys round, I love the colours as well ^^

Because it’s a space theme, having some planets would make sense, but I’m not entirely sure how I would like the planets to be, but either way I wanted it to be bright and colourful, and maybe flat: p

Nearing the end of the animation I want the lights to go round the a satellite like the one you see, but I’m still not sure whether to have it look more like a satellite or a space station.

Finally the last part, when the orb of lights go round the machine, I wanted it to go into the machine, like the “idea 9” which then starts it up and projects……………… a hologram :O saying something like “UK top 10”

Final animation storyboard

I wasn't really happy with the ideas that i came up, and i couldn't really decide on what idea to choose from. So i created another storyboard/idea paper thing to see what ideas where there, and from their i would decide on one final idea to push forward :D




Ok even though i said there are 3 ideas that im pushing foward the idea about the ball of light stuck in my head and there was something which i like about it, so i decided to add it to the Forward idea sheet:p. Suprisingly :O i actually preferred the line idea, and started to think more about it so i made another storyboard just for it :D ^^

Thinking about to lights i remembered back in secondary school, and working with the camera and playing around with the shutter speed, for instance the longer you hold it, the more you will catch, creating blur like the images below. The trails in the images gave me the idea of having the star leave a trail behind, because i fount it to be quite eye catching.

The images of below are meant to be about neon lights. The reason why i put them up because i fount that neon colours are eye catching, definitely when they are contrasted with a dark background.

Ok after having a chat with kris i rembered something on what he said, that in the past people use the stars to tell stories and use them as a guide for direction. So thats when it hit me, to base my animation around the stars style.

The thing is people still look at star readings to tell their future or to guide, for instance horoscopes which tells us what we are going to be doing today, and from horoscopes people have gone to say that cause of a certain star sign you would have certain bodily attributes, e.g. pisces having being tall and slender.

Also for direction people can use the "North star" as a guide to find out which way to go when they get lost.

Ideas that im pushing foward 3!!!!

The 3rd idea was going to be the idea of the ink that was going to br traviling around on a blank white canvas. I posted images on how i was aiming the animation a while ago, but even though this animation will be quite cool for me, their is something about it which i don't want to proceed with. :(

Ideas that im pushing foward part 2 !!

With the transformation idea i thought it will fit the criteria with it being simple, fast/hectic/ and random. But the problem is that i haven't managed to decide on what colours i want for the animation. This is sort of the shape i had in mind to begin with before it starts transforming.




Here are some images with multiple shapes that i have fount, from here i started to select shapes that appealed to me, and which is simple not to complex for the animation.

Ideas that im pushing foward with !!

There are 3 main ideas on what i want to push on foward, they are Idea 9, idea 7 and another idea to do with somethinng transforming into different objects quickly then to transform into the words of something like "Uk Top 10"

With idea 9 it was about orbs of light traveling down cables/pipes then reaching a machine which the ball of light go into.

With the pipes idea i wanted the camera to be at this perspective for a brief moment to see the ball of light travel down.

The machine to have headphones and i was thinking of having the ball of lights travel into the headphones to start up the machine. Down below are headphones from 3 different perspective to help me draw them for the storyboard, but with the image to the left, if my favourite. :D

As with the wierd projector i wanted it to be connected to the robot/humanoid, but i wanted the projector to look quite old, so having the new mix in with old. Down below are again images help me draw out my idea and to help you get a better idea on what im aiming for. With the middle image i fount it quite eye catching but also quite disturbing, and wasn't the feel i was aiming for, and with the design of it, it does look to copmplex. The other robot image to the right, again wasn't the feeling i was looking for , it to me didn't look as seruius as i want, instead gave me like an "awwwwwwww" feeling as it is cute in my eyes :D
